Marion’s Pie Shop, Chatham, Cape Cod

It is time for the Family Summer Holiday. After a week in the city we ventured up the East coast for a seaside break on the Cape. Cape Cod that is.

Chatham is known for its large commercial fishing community, third largest on the Cape, for the thousands of seals that occupy it’s waters, for the beaches and for its pies. Marion’s pies, to be exact. A constant stream of pie enthusiasts flock to this South Chatham shack, just off Main Street, ready to indulge in as many pies as they can sensibly justify. This family can justify sugar on a grand scale and it was decided, unanimously (provided you don’t count the dad) that to fully appreciate the delicate and “world-renowned” pastry we would have to try both a sweet and savoury model. Chicken pie for dinner followed by a dessert of cherry pie with a generous side of pecan slice and chocolate brownie. We are only a family of four and yet we clambered into our monster 4×4 rental and powered back to our beachside holiday home to consume the mammoth pies in comfort.

Sea-side in the literal sense

You probably want to go to Cape Cod now. So get yourself on the following site and book. Do it.
